So I went through two of them. In the first, we couldn't trigger red light or ringing all the time. I sent one back and received another as a replacement. We couldn't get the second one to work either. It turns out that you have to hold the button down for a bit before the indicator turns red and starts ringing. NO instructions in the box where it says so. My 2 year old was SOOO frustrated until we found out. Especially since it was from Santa Claus and we had to send the first one back to him so that one night he would "deliver" the second to our chimney. Mom was mad too! It's amazing now that we know how to use it, but I took off a star for the lack of instructions.
