Revainrating 2 out of 5

Budget laptop with a few positives and a very large negative

Pros: The system runs very smooth and fast. (read below) 128GB of storage may be a limit for some. I bought this laptop as an everyday laptop for my wife for Valentine's Day. For the money, this laptop offers a lot. But I have to start with what is most disappointing about this laptop. The wireless implementation in this system was terrible. Wireless out of the box was absolutely useless. The onboard wireless network download and upload speeds ranged from 1 Mbps to 500 kbps. I tried several troubleshooting tweaks but nothing helped to improve performance even when I was only a few feet away from the wireless router. To solve this problem, I had to buy a third-party USB WiFi adapter. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019SRBUNG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) With the adapter I have consistently reached 150 Mbit/s and 10 Mbit/s. works out of the box, and losing the USB 3.0 side I/O port may not be the best solution for some, but it doesn't detract from my wife's experience. Shame the wifi was such a terrible experience as the rest of the experience is actually very good value for money. The laptop is very fast and responsive thanks to i3 and combined RAM with SSD hard drive. The laptop boots up and programs and applications are displayed quickly, even when multitasking lightly (e.g. when multiple Chrome browsers are open). Controls (if you like that kind of thing). My wife loves the build quality and feel of the keyboard. It also has a decent amount of I/O for the price (although you could lose out if your wireless experience is like mine). one I/O port for wireless connection use only), including the disc reader. Aspects of User Experience. It is a pity that this product has spoiled such an important aspect so much.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • poorly thought out
