I ordered a medium size and the clips didn't close. We thought we might have gotten married so we ordered another medium size (both teal/turquoise) and the second was EXACTLY the same. The plastic clips are completely useless. With a less-than-gentle tug, they disengage. We tried bending the clamps so the male end stayed in the female end, but nothing helped them stay closed. We didn't have time, so we went on a field trip, took cats, and ended up wrapping small ribbons around the clamps to keep them in place. Have you ever tried tying a tiny tie to the vest of a squirming, clawed kitten? Adding straps for security totally defeats the purpose of this vest when the main security component - CLIPS - is the cheapest you can find anywhere. The odd thing is that for our other cat we ordered a size small in gray and the clips on him are just right. Not great but better. In general, I would not buy another one of them because of this problem. Our big cat also hatched twice from the medium-sized turquoise during our trip. She ended up wearing it as a toga or tying it around her waist (and yes, it was the right size for her). Too bad, because these vests look absolutely cool and are very nicely designed. Our teenage red cat looks like a little badass in her gray. However, clips present a major quality control issue.
