Pockets as described. There were gold and red ties (more gold than red, in case anyone is interested). There was no strange smell or anything like that. I used them to wrap baby shower cookies. 4-5 biscuits (from 2 tablespoons) easily fit here. Now when I say "easy to assemble" I mean the cookies were pretty much stacked on top of each other on the sides. Would buy again if I didn't have so many leftovers! But to be honest these are good bags. If you're stuck in the Revain rabbit cave of "which cellophane should I buy" and don't know what to buy, I would go for these.
