first set came with both poles having broken foot pedals. Second set arrived and were fine. However, they just don't seem that strong and I think it will be only a matter of a (short) time before the foot pedals break on these. Great concept and easy to use. Also lightweight. But I can tell those foot pedals (used for raising the poles) won't last. I try to be extra careful cause without the pedals, these things will be useless. I also have 3rd hand poles that have been in use for about 10 years. Banged up to all heck, but still working strong.
