The cable is heavier than regular HDMI cables and holds its shape better when bent. I'm assuming it's the sensor and OFC copper. None of these actually affect the operation of the HDMI cable, but they might for a very long time. The connector is permanently in the slot. In general, this entire product makes a high-quality impression. This is a great deal for the price. I had a return because the outer case had a cut exposing the screen but a replacement was here 3 days later with no questions asked. I'm not deducting a star because it actually exceeded my expectations of 5 stars. It is nicely packaged if you want to give it as a small gift.
