I'm a dude who's always wanted bling because I like shiny things and my hands and neck are as good a place as any for a pleasant distraction. I've always joked that I'd like a suite of good cubic zirconia "pieces" so I'd have endless sparkles right there whenever I need them. Because such items are usually gifted by someone of means to someone of significant importance, I've not held my breath. So imagine my delight when this item arrived! Some bling for sure. Sparkles and sparkles in any light (might even blind your favorite aunt in friendly card game so she's off her strategy though that remains in the fantasy column.)For this price, I couldn't believe the level of bling. I fully expected gumball machine quality, and probably would have liked that just fine. But it doesn't look cheap. I feel like I have a disco ball on my wrist whenever I need soothing or distraction. If I saw someone else wearing it, I'd assume it was good quality. No gemologist, obviously, but I can identify cheap jewelry generally speaking. Not only does it dazzle, but this tennis bracelet feels substantial, well made as baubles go. It has decent heft and inspecting the chain links from underneath doesn't reveal any obvious flaws. It drapes really nicely and seems unflappable when it comes to snagging or shaking it loose when it's too snug--the kinds of things boys do that's the reason we usually can't be trusted with nice things. One other reviewer said s/he felt it has a nicely masculine look. I would say that I agree to the extent that much decoration is possibly considered masculine--with which I'm entirely on board. It's boxy rather than frilly. Any guy looking for something like this will likely feel relatively secure with his y-chromosome.Part of what I personally like about the piece is that when I walk into a gas station in lacrosse shorts and a stained t-shirt from high school to buy bargain beer, it might present an entertaining puzzle about what's going on with *that* guy. And basically you can't look at it without some little something in you having an "ooooh, shiny" moment, so spread the joy yaknow. This bracelet also stays fastened for sure. You can feel the primary clasp click into place, and the keepers on either side provide additional security. (One of my side clasps comes loose sometimes because there's a little more play around the post than on the other side. Nothing a jeweler or some needle-nose pliers couldn't fix depending on whichever I encounter next time I'm wearing it. And that says something about the structural integrity of the piece because I'm kinda clumsy, yet not afraid I'll break it.The velvety pouch it comes with is nice as well. It's gotten wet and soapy plenty of times and no tarnish. (I'm only talking about the white metal version.) My arm's not green, no rash, etc.I can't say enough how happy this thing makes me!If this appeals to you at all, it's a no-brainer at this price. Join me, will you, in casting rainbows onto ceilings while switching on lamps near and far. You're worth it.
