. It's a portable Bluetooth speaker, after all, but it has some downsides that I find really short-sighted. Good things first. It's noisy. It is very loud. This is a powerful little speaker with pretty good sound quality. Fills the room well with sound. It doesn't lag much in YouTube video streaming, so it's not the worst. Bad things: The description says it charges via USB Type-C. What! Eventually almost all my devices will use the same charging cable! It's a dream, isn't it? Well, it uses a Type-C port but doesn't really take advantage of Type-C. You cannot use a Power Delivery charger with a Type-C to Type-C cable to charge. A USB-A to USB-C cable must be used, severely limiting its potential and requiring a different cable. So it was a big disappointment and a terrible design decision. I also know this is a portable Bluetooth speaker, but only using the SBC audio codec really limits the audio quality potential. It's cheaper than ever to implement some codecs to deliver higher quality audio, but we're sticking with the SBC. USB-C alone is a pretty big disappointment. If you use USB-C, why do you need old charging cables? It just seems lazy at the end of the day.
