great for beginners who have also watched a few videos!

oh my god i'm glad i searched youtube for good sets. First, the light is amazing. I don't have any other light source, but this one is just beautiful. I use a double form and apply it well enough on the nail and then stick the nail in for about 1 second. This keeps the top in place while I smooth the bottom around the nail. That way I don't get a nice bottom part and then see the top part coming off my nail or something. This heals the floor a bit, but I don't have to file it. I usually apply a thin layer first and then use that as a base for more gel, applying it exactly where more is needed and then putting the mold back on top to smooth it out perfectly. I still have to file a few spots but it's soooo quicker than trying to use a paper form as I'm totally new to gelling. If you're like me and just smash the gel in place, you're going to have a lot of bugs. It's fluid enough to level out without much self-leveling, but smooth enough to snap more. As I used more Glide, I noticed that the gel was a bit runny, like I diluted it with Glide. The brush is not as hard as I would like, but still very useful. You will probably need efile. However, check with the tool store first if they have sales. I use my mom's Dremel 3000 with bits (difficult with bits but workable). I've seen some files that only accept one size, or you have to pull bits in and out (lots of complaints about bits breaking in the machine). I think I'll just use a dremel and some appropriate nails for this. I wouldn't trust a file that I can't use in different sizes, or you know that no broken piece will end up ruining the machine (the dremel spins and takes on different sizes), the only downside is that it's quite bulky and difficult. But with the right file you definitely don't have to worry about the gel getting wet for hours (I forgot the file and tried to wet the wrong nail, it was very bulky and filling it manually was driving me crazy). Gel itself is pretty strong. I have the tips of my nails, I thought they were too thin, but they haven't broken yet! I was helping to tear down the shed and lost my grip on the board and if it were my natural nails they would definitely snap but they wouldn't even have snapped off! Oh, you MUST use something to wipe your nails, hand file off the shine and USE AN UNDERCOAT and DO NOT wipe off the stickiness of the base coat. I had 1 nail pulled off because I didn't use a base coat and ONLY this one did it right away. I plan on buying other gels to see if there are better ones but WILL buy more from these brands. The extra designer stuff is really cute, but I've only tried gold foil. The glitter and stuff isn't my thing, but they're a good size and worked on my test nail. The butterflies were so cute but a little annoying. And I never use gems because they're bulky, but to me all gems are bulky and they just get ripped off my nails. days and don't use dishwashing mitts (no dishwasher) so I'm counting on getting a week of it max. Oh yes, buy gel polish if you don't have it. It's pretty nice to apply base coat, gel polish, and base coat so you know when to stop drilling gel off your nail if you mess up. I did this for a nail to see if it would affect her life. I'll let you know how it goes.
