I'm a big fan of music. I buy and own a very large collection and my Galaxy phone can only store 10,000 songs. I don't put my huge CD collection on the shelves because it takes up too much space and my record collection already dominates most of my living space. My iPod 128G died a few years ago and my phone is indiscriminately deleting music files as new ones are added. As a result, it often happened that I wanted to hear something, but found that it had mysteriously disappeared from my phone. I've racked my brains on what music device to buy at a reasonable price and after quite a bit of research, I chose this iRULU because the 256 GB of storage allows me to have most of my music collection at hand wherever I go. I was strictly against anything over $150 as my experience with this type of electronics always ended with a non-working unit after a few years. After some missteps to get this irulu to work (the PC didn't recognize it, the device recognized the data on the inserted card but left it out of the "Songs, Album, Artist" menu, but both problems somehow solved) I have now found out that the maximum capacity of the device is 15,000 songs. While this seems like a lot to most people, for me it's a deal breaker and I'm giving it back. The device itself is fine, but the scroll wheel, which requires you to scroll through each menu, it seems a bit unmanageable and takes forever when you have 15,000 songs. The sound quality is good, the battery life is acceptable. It's weird that if you're listening for a while and need to pause a song because someone is talking to you, you have to press the power button, wait for the software to turn on, and then you can pause listening by pressing the button. You also have to do this if you want to turn up the volume or skip to the next track, which I think is a huge mistake. Maybe if you have these controls on your headphones it will work? I didn't do this so I don't know but I'm returning the device as it's limited for my needs. I would let it if it cost $60 Sound quality is good, battery life is acceptable.
