This unit works like a pedestal riser, attaching to any dining chair and giving your child that much needed extra inch to reach the table comfortably. It's easy to clean as it's housed in a leather case with a non-slip bottom so it doesn't really move when strapped to a chair. For our standard upholstered dining chair, it still has some room around and in front of the chair where it almost gives our little ones a 'step' so they can still climb onto the booster seat on their own. It's dark grey. So as your child grows beyond the need to use it as a table riser I can see how it can be useful for them as a floor cushion, but be aware you will still have buckles that get in the way. I wouldn't take it to restaurants as it's quite bulky. It is similar to the padding of a stadium chair but is 3-4 times thicker.
