We recently got a new puppy and it wasn't planned ahead so we didn't have much when we brought him home. We bought everything we needed the same day before returning home with him, but the next day we specifically went looking for some sort of kennel. We've looked at metal cages, but I just don't like them. They look awful and I don't want my pup to feel like he was in the pet shop again. So I decided to find the soft side to travel with. I couldn't find it in the shops here so I ordered this one (mainly because I didn't really have much time to look and stopped there). I'm glad I ended up choosing this one because we like it. I was afraid it would be huge and have nowhere to go, but it was the perfect size and could be moved to different parts of the house as we move things around for the holidays and whatnot. The top is completely removable so we just slip our pup in from the top. This is a small 2.5 pound Chihuahua, and although it jumps to its side, it can't jump over or knock it over. Once he is fully trained to enter on command or at specific times (before bed, during dinner), we can use the door. The zippered door can be rolled up and fixed with Velcro. It fits his folded blanket and a few toys while still leaving enough room for a food/water bowl or whatever you want to put inside. Since he hasn't been in it long, he doesn't need much more than he has in there. We don't use mats and train without them, but it works for a large exercise mat. It is very easy to fold and store in the travel bag provided. I'm usually terrible at folding pop up tents and that's essentially what it is; Hinged playpen for puppies. I can fold it up in a minute and also pull it out again. It came with a foldable purple travel bowl with hooks so you don't lose it. I loved that the silhouette on it looks just like my little pup! We love it and our pup gets used to it pretty quickly. It's worth it!
