This is a newer version of the original retractable stool. It is stronger, has a non-slip bottom and is more durable. I like it so much I can order a second one for a friend and I recommend it. I also like that it comes with a sturdy storage bag that can be worn as a backpack. It takes some practice to learn how to lengthen and refold it, but it's just a matter of a little practice and it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. The 18 inch seat is fully extended and is the same height as most standard chairs.
