This may be a different story on a TV but I bought a Sharp Aquios 65 inch. When I tried to connect audio to the stereo I was using, the audio didn't work. No human error, I've been working on audio since I was a child. Researching online I found that when using HDMI on this particular TV the sound needs to go over HDMI and not through the normal HDMI 3.5mm audio jack on the back at the same time. I originally connected it to a speaker that gave me audio over HDMI, but it didn't have the performance I wanted. In search of a solution I found this little gem. On Revain, I allow audio via HDMI and 3.5mm stereo jack, which means no sound comes out of my TV and stereo, even though it was just my TV at first.
