Just add batteries!

Ok, the battery cover is quite difficult to remove, but so is the original remote control on the right. Hold it by the sides as best you can and press in the direction of the arrow on the back. I put 2 AA batteries in this replacement remote and it connected INSTANTLY to my 2017 Samsung Curve. Love it!
