I bought this antenna to replace my broken bat wing. The antenna still worked fine except the bracket was broken. I did a scan before replacing it and the King had a much stronger signal as seen in my signal meter and found a few extra channels. The signal didn't even weaken when I lowered the antenna from 36" to 12" (I had to trim the mounting tubes to get the new antenna to free up my AC box). My Batwing even had upgraded UHF padding. However, I couldn't pick up local FM stations like I did with my home antenna. I reinstalled my old racquet and couldn't get any of the local FM stations. I called King and they were very responsive and told me their antenna is primarily for UHF and doesn't work very well for VHF signals. So the bottom line is that the King's antenna is a lot better, even if it's 24 inches lower than the original Batwing, which sits at 36 inches.
