Amazon's picture shows they have a silver metal base. Mine came in gold so I'm only giving it 3 stars. This will greatly affect some of you. For me the base is hidden so that wasn't a problem. I installed them on the ottoman. They don't come with hardware so I used screws. I use a 2 1/2" tall roller. You need 1 3/8" to 1 1/2" of clearance if you insert a roller and need it to spin freely.
