I used a wooden shelf with legs that barely fit a very wide keyboard with number pad. I then switched to a white metal wire stand and it was impossible to see the keys through it. It was perfect. It raises the monitor where I want it and gives me an almost full view of the keyboard. Only the "F" keys are partially hidden. Now I can type and look for the key instead of looking under the shelf. One of the best things on my system. There were no issues with adjustment, so it suited every available height.
