The remote control was advertised as home-made. I have reprogrammed my remote at least 25 times. I even had to tell the guys at the shop how to do it after they messed up my starter when trying to start the car. Luckily I was able to find someone with a scanner to program it for me. Then I drive it 2 times for a total of about 45 minutes and a message comes up on the dashboard saying the battery needs to be replaced. Now I know if I change the battery I can't reprogram it again until my friend comes back from the 30 minute drive from his store with his scanner. I don't think it was the battery to begin with. If that were the case it would be great to have a new battery in there, but I'm not risking it until I have a scanner nearby!
