Ankle brace is lightweight, made of thin material. The bandage stretches a little and this makes it easier for the foot/ankle to pass through the orthosis. Separate velcro holds well. I wore this brace to work 3 different days and the velcro didn't come off. Note: Although I only need one brace for my right ankle, this brace fits my left ankle just as well. I wear size 8 shoes. and this brace fits my ankle well. My ankle measures 8-1/8 inches (I measured the circumference of my ankle in the area just above the ankle bone). I find that this brace gives my ankle the best support when I'm also wearing work boots (the ones that go higher). (my ankle bones). When I wear running shoes, this brace doesn't give my ankle as much support on the sides as I would like. It doesn't restrict the inward or outward movement of my ankles as much as I would like I like the coverage I get from this ankle brace. I want it to be higher than my ankle and cover most of my foot. Finally, there are no step-by-step instructions or illustrations on how to put this brace on, and no sizing measurements to show what ankle size this brace is best for. Overall this is a functional ankle brace.
