It looked like a DIY project

Fixed a great winter jacket with a bad zipper. Search wikihow on the internet for DIY repairs. Walmart had cheap needles, thread, and other sewing supplies. I worked slowly since it was my first time doing this. The pictures on Wikihow were very helpful. In the spirit of thrift, I saved $$$$ by not buying a new jacket, which was nice.
