Looks good and works well when you are working on it

I don't want to write this review as my last review was rejected and no one seems interested in telling me why. Fingers crossed, that's all. I'm not particularly interested in RGB, but apparently these parts now cost about the same as non-RGB parts, and hell, there's a glass panel in my case anyway. For the most part, I love these fans, but I hated them for the first four hours. It's important to me to be able to turn off the light, but at first I couldn't. I think the instructions are a bit confusing for a PC newbie. I got them working as advertised, but it took the same amount of time as my entire computer (about a day). Watched videos, read articles, tried all kinds of things. Apparently I wasn't the only one having problems. I tried asking for help on the Thermaltake forum. I jumped through all the hoops, then despite trying 3 times with 2 email accounts I was never able to get their verification link. In the end I decided to pull everything out and send it back, and that's when I had the idea to revise step number 4 in the instructions. It's about connecting the USB cable to the controller and the motherboard. Well, 2 possible cables are supplied for this. Both are micro (or mini?) USB. The one I wanted to use is about 8 inches long and connects perfectly with the RGB controls on my motherboard. Seems appropriate, doesn't it? Not correct. I had to use a splitter about 20 feet long and plug it into a USB port on the motherboard. Step 6 says I use a splitter cable (or bridge) if I want to connect 2 or more controllers. Well I have a controller so I hope you can see how this can be a bit confusing. At least for my build, which I think is fairly typical, the cord is too much and I'm struggling to find places to stash it. k. I don't want to complain about that because it's better to have too much cable than not enough. I'd happily pay the extra $10 for a shorter cable option. Also, 2 pins came out of the power cord housing when I was very careful. I'm still not 100% sure I sent them back correctly. I see people saying the program sucks. I do not understand. The software is very good and works as it should. The problem lies in the error code that you will probably see when you first see the software. There are many color scheme options. I especially like the idea of changing the colors depending on the temperature. I don't know yet if it's the temperature of the fans or the air inside the computer case or something else. The fans look nice from both sides, but of course they look better from the front (intake position, not exhaust position). . They are fairly quiet and let more air through than the fans that come with the kit. 5 stars for beautiful colors, software and fan quality. 1 star for hassle and cables. So I think it's 3. I'm really trying to help so please don't block my review without reason.
