I threw away the protective glass for that!
I prefer these glass screen protectors which I had to clean every day to pick up fingerprints and sebum. They apply easily, dry to a glassy finish, and resist fingerprints and sebum, so they don't smudge as easily as glass screen protectors. Highly recommended!
