Review on πŸ”ͺ Oxford Chef 8 inch Chef's Knife - Damascus Japanese VG10 Super Steel, Stain & Corrosion Resistant, Razor Sharp Blade, High Edge Retention by Blake Burrell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice knife, good handle but not sharp enough out of the box

One thing I check as soon as I get a new knife, can it cut through a tomato without much effort? For this knife, the answer is: somehow. It can cut through a tomato without crushing it but doesn't slip over it like you would expect from a knife in this price range, it's more of an average quality knife that's well made but not properly sharpened. Can cut meat much better than my old $10 knife, but at a huge price increase it's not worth it. The grip feels good and it was light enough to be easy to handle. Wouldn't buy at that price but if it was half the price it wouldn't be such a bad buy.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
