I was searching for waterproof winter boots and these came up as "water resistant” and cheap and good looking. I am a shoe snob and would not ordinarily order an off-brand but it was late at night and there were (literally) 10,000+ reviews and free returns and I thought what the heck. When they arrived I almost didn’t try them on. They are not leather and they look like dull brown plastic. But, again, what the heck they’re here so I might as well try them on. The insole is not removable so I just put my orthotics in on top of the existing thin fuzzy insole. There is plenty of room in the size 9.5 for my size 9.5 wide feet and my orthotics and, with my orthotics, the boots are remarkably comfortable. I’m still in the wearing them around the house phase but I think I’m going to keep them! They will be good winter dog walking shoes and will probably keep my feet warm and dry through a light snow which is all we usually get in Oklahoma.PRO: comfortable and warm, heavy duty soleCON: NOT waterproof - the tongue is not gusseted so water will come in from the top if you step in a puddle. Look like plastic.
