First time was camping on Mount San Jacinto in Southern California. This tent got into terrible conditions at my campsite, which happened to be on the edge of a mountain at about 10,000 feet. The wind was up to 40mph that night and I got so scared that I ended up falling asleep in their tent with another camper (mine is fine, I was just scared). As soon as I secured my tent the weather suddenly picked up (I only used 2 pegs) and there was nothing inside to keep the wind down. To my surprise, the tent wasn't blown off the mountainside and didn't move an inch when we woke up in the morning. It was also fairly easy to pack up and put back into the stuff sacks. I experienced great relief. I've attached a picture of the campsite, the big rock behind the tent really helped block some of the wind. I have also used this tent when camping with my dog in Sedona, Arizona. 10/10 it was great. In terms of mountaineering, this tent is absolutely as light as you can get for the price (especially with the enclosed footprint). However, it is still quite difficult. I'm considering a longer hike in Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon, and also considering upgrading to a lighter tent from Big Agnes. I would like this tent to fit less in my travel bag / take up less space in my backpack so I'm also considering an upgrade. I love this tent, I think it's great for short hikes and camping. It's a great price and I have no issues with the design or functionality. I also like the company and I think they do a good job. I would buy this tent again, but for longer hikes I'll probably buy a lighter tent.
