Review on Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste: Powerful Mint Formula, 3 Ounce for Whiter Teeth by Beth Pujol

New 2020 formula Terrible taste

I have been using Rembrandt D toothpaste for over a decade. It took me seven or eight years to realize that it really worked. But it worked because today my teeth are white. Now I am very disappointed because the formula of the toothpaste has changed drastically and this new formula is making me sick so I cannot use it. The good thing about Rembrandt D that every regular customer knew was that it was the only toothpaste that contained peroxide, so it had a whitening effect. To my knowledge, no other whitening toothpaste contains real whitening ingredients, only abrasives. The old formula had urea peroxide and the new formula had hydrogen peroxide. The new formula smells like hydrogen peroxide and is not very pleasant. The ingredients of the old formula (before 2020) were as follows: Active ingredient: sodium monofluorophosphate 0.884% w/w (0.15% w/v fluoride ion). . . . for AnticavityInactive: Glycerin, Silica, Urea Peroxide, Modified Food Starch, Flavor, Silica, Sodium Citrate, Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Papain, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Carbomer, Sodium Saccharin, Calcium Disodium EDTA, Aluminum Hydroxide. new formula (2020): active ingredient: sodium monofluorophosphate (0.884%). . . . for AnticavityInactive: Calcium Pyrophosphate, Water, Glycerin, PEG-8, Aroma, Carbomer, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Saccharin, Potassium Hydroxide, Sucralose, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate. While the new formula has a much softer consistency that makes it resemble regular toothpaste, the flavor change is a deal-killer. If anyone finds an alternative urea peroxide toothpaste please post so we former Rembrandt D customers can keep brushing!
