This top is extremely soft. Like buttery. The fabric is very stretchy, but it has some weight to it. Very soft and nice quality. I bought the size I typically would for a cardigan (XL) and am satisfied with the fit. It's a little more cropped than I'd hope for (plus I'm pretty tall), but its workable! I took one star off because I wish the embroidered cherries were on the back too, so the fabric was uniform all around. Just a personal preference. From the back, it looks like I have on a plain black top
