Review on πŸ“± MoKo Magnetic Case: Slim Lightweight Stand Folio Cover for iPad Air 4th Gen 2020/iPad Pro 11" - Auto Wake/Sleep, Black by Kaveen Restoration

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Competes with the Apple Smart Folio for 1/4 or even 1/25 the price!

I've never had an Apple Smart Folio for iPad, but I ironed them at the store. And I have to admit, I've only had this MoKo clone for a few days. But it works the same and feels almost the same both on the outside when you hold it in your hands and on the inside where it makes contact with the iPad. It's a bit heavier and thicker, but you have to be the main character of Princess and the Pea to notice it on a practical level. It "feels" a little different, maybe a little cheaper in construction, but I paid THREE DOLLARS for this case, so any tiny compromises in quality compared to Apple's $80 version are forgivable and, as I said, almost are imperceptible. This case is also available in a newer version for the 2020 iPad Pro, the only difference being the camera cutout (which is larger) and the price ($14 instead of $3). Even if you compare the $14 "new" MoKo to Apple's $60 price point, you're still saving $46. it's still less than 1/4 the price. I also have a very durable keyboard case from Logitech for my 2018 iPad Pro 11" and it's great when I'm using it for work or heavy typing. It also offers some serious drop protection, while the MoKo Smart Folio is primarily for scratch protection But this Logitech case makes using the iPad for more mundane things like reading books and sitting on the couch a chore by more than doubling the weight and bulk of the iPad.The MoKo Smart Folio is much thinner and lighter, making it ideal for reading and other everyday uses, while still providing protection mostly in your briefcase, desk or chair. The magnets are incredibly strong, especially those that stick to the back of the iPad Attaching the cover is a snap, magnets ensure everything is in place, simply place the iPad on the back cover Removal is just as quick and almost as easy, although the powerful magnets on the back make removal more difficult than installation! The front cover screen locks the iPad when closed and wakes the screen when opened. The outside feels nice, the inside is very soft, almost like a microfiber cloth. The camera cutout is clean and precise. All buttons and ports, microphones, speakers, etc. are fully accessible. The Apple Pencil (2nd generation) can be left in the charging position, whether the case is open or closed. Folding back the front cover covers the camera, of course, but the front cover magnetically attaches to the back so it doesn't hang around when used in this configuration. The front cover folds into a triangle, allowing the iPad to stand in landscape mode for media viewing (and that's how I use it as a bedside clock radio at night), or at a slight angle if you don't want the iPad full flat when used on a desk; In this latter mode, it's fairly stable for typing with the onscreen keyboard or writing or drawing with a stylus. When the laptop is folded into a triangle for use as a stand, the magnets on the front cover help it hold that shape. If you need a keyboard case buy one, love my Logitech Slim Folio Pro, it's a great value compared to Apple's key cases. But if you don't need serious drop protection or a physical keyboard, or like me, you want to be more comfortable using your 2018 iPad Pro when you don't need those things, this MoKo Smart Folio is a solid choice at an affordable price. Current price compared to a nearly identical Apple Smart Folio. Please note this MoKo Smart Folio is for the 2018 iPad Pro. If you have a 2020 iPad Pro, there's an updated version with a larger camera cutout to accommodate a larger camera array, the price of the new version is higher, but it's still a fraction of the price of an Apple product.
