This door is perfect. We put one in the wall of the dirty room and one in the back door for our dogs. We had a problem with our old door that opened in the wind in winter. Although we didn't survive the winter with a door in the wall, I don't think it will swing open in the wind. The magnetic strip on the bottom of the valve fits very well. We have removed the additional valve from both doors. If we need them this winter, we can put them back on. Otherwise we will keep them as spare sheets in the future. We have two 20 lb dogs and they pass easily. The wall extension is perfect for the one that plugs into the wall. I think 25lbs would be the opening limit unless you have a very very lean dog. I wish the ideal was a large size, maybe up to 40 pounds. We didn't want an XL because people can climb through them, but the smaller door limits the size of dog we can get in the future. For those of you unfamiliar with manual work, ask a qualified person to glue them. My husband is a good carpenter and has good tools. You need very long bits for holes (especially in walls) and some skill to cut a hole in the door.
