Medium sized camera backpack with a very thoughtful design

Bought this specifically for a trip Europe where it was would be my only backpack plus a wheeled bag. It's a 350. I fit in: a Canon 70D with a bulky kit lens, 18-135, with a strap wrapped around the lens; wide angle 10-18; Tele 15-250; 1 Canon 430 Speedlite flash; and a cloth bag with cleaning supplies. All of this fits into the camera compartment, which opens "back" - you either have to remove the packaging or "flip": there is no other access. A full frame DSLR can be very cramped, but the bag fits my crop camera. And restricted access is a plus for security. I like the roomy separate top pockets. In the main bag I pack my filter system, a small suitcase with batteries and other photo accessories and a few small bags with personal items. The small front pocket holds an iPad, a large glasses case and a small notepad. Probably no room for a laptop! Please note that there are no other external pockets apart from one on the hip belt. However, I have a feeling that people will find it more difficult to open their pockets when lying on their backs. (I have zippered safety clips for when I'm in a crowd). I've only used the flip function a few times to change lenses in the field and it worked well. If you were wearing a thick jacket, it wouldn't be that easy. I like the size, the ability to adjust the straps when dressing; Side and back straps for water bottle, tripod, walking stick or whatever. That's convenient

Pros
  • Additional carrying options inside or outside Multiple attachment points allow you to increase or decrease the size of gear you carry outside of the bag
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
