There were a few imperfections in the spiral of the glass pen, but they were high enough on the pen that it didn't matter when writing. The best thing I've found about glass handles is that they form a very consistent line. You need to let the ink flow back into the bottle so it doesn't smudge as you write. I will say that some inks work better with it than others. Very easy to keep clean. Save the protective cap and leave it on the pen when not in use. The pen tip is thin enough to break if you place it in the wrong place. The paintwork is good, just have a light flasher on hand. The little glass cat pen holder is too fragile to be really useful, but it's cute. Good and elegant packaging.
