After retinal hole surgery my wife needed some sort of device to keep her head in a constant position for two weeks. There are dedicated devices for this that can be rented online and in person at surgical supply stores, but I have found that renting for just a week is DOUBLE the price of Earthlite. and I should add that vitrectomy supplies are not covered. most insurance plans (check with your insurance company). Travelmate worked great for our use. It only took a minute to put together and once assembled it was easy to fold and move around when needed. This provided sufficiently firm and very comfortable support as she held her head in the face down position necessary for proper healing. She could read and use her tablet, which nestled very comfortably on her "hugging face", and on several occasions she even fell asleep in it because it was so convenient. I highly recommend this product to anyone considering macular surgery. or vitrectomy. The price is right, the location and convenience is right, and unlike renting, you can resell it to someone else who can have surgery when you're done.
