Agmatine is derived from the amino acid arginine and has done a lot of very interesting research, although much of it is done on animals and is based on injections into humans. However, it may have some potential when taken orally or possibly sublingual/buccal (under the tongue/on the lining of the mouth). Preliminary evidence suggests that agmatine may help with mental and neurological issues such as pain relief and possibly even depression and addiction because it acts as a neurotransmitter and interacts with the brain's opioid system. I know many people believe in agmatine's ability to help them feel better and more mentally productive. I personally get a bit of a mental boost after taking it and take it on an empty stomach before a workout and hold it under my tongue mixed with some water so it can potentially be absorbed sublingually into the bloodstream to mimic injections. To be honest I am thrilled with this supplement. Also, while researching this supplement company, it was nice to see quite a lot of quality control and testing details on their website. It makes me feel even better about this particular product.
