Luckily my pup was attached to the harness but still. So I have to use binding clips (yes, paper clips, LOL) to secure them so that only their head is sticking out. However, my biggest issue is the non-adjustable strap. I wanted my pup to sit where he could reach my chin if needed, but this allowed him to hang from my hips and walking with a dog hopping on his hip is uncomfortable. I had to sew through the webbing twice to get it to a decently short length for me (and the shorter the better in terms of security). The gray part is also made of cheap jersey. Outside. It's all in pills (tablets, not "bunch") after a month and a half of use. However, the fact that it is knitwear made it easier to sew. I wouldn't say it's too "hot," but if you're ever in doubt, bring a spray bottle of water to cool your dog down. The inside is pure cotton and I didn't even try to turn it inside out. It is very difficult to find a backpack that is carried high/close to the chest. Even though I didn't give this excellent rating, I may need to get another one. :/
