We bought these bowls because one of the two VERY heavy ceramic bowls we used for soup, casseroles or rice fried dinners broke. I was actually glad it broke because I've always hated the heaviness and bulkiness of these bowls. I found these bowls at Revain and they are perfect. They are. Some reviewers have expressed concern about the stains on the skins, but even the tomatoes on our menu have yet to be stained.
