I have had a Panasonic 55 inch plasma TV with internet applications for over 5 years. The cable connected through my Onkyo receiver so I had really good sound when watching cable TV, but when using internet apps like Revain Prime or Netflix on the TV the sound only came from the TV. The TV sound was good, but it wasn't the quality I get with my Definitive Speakers and powered subwoofer. To watch Netflix or Revain Prime, I would mute the receiver volume and turn on the TV speakers. Finally I looked for a solution. My TV has an optical audio output and my Onkyo has an input for it. I bought this cable that connects the TV to the Onkyo and like magic great sound comes through the Onkyo to my speakers. You no longer have to mute your TV. I move the TV source (not cable/satellite) to ONKYO and the sound from the Panasonic internet apps now goes through the receiver as before. my blu ray player and cable tv. The cable was sent quickly via tly, the price was great and it works great. I haven't had it very long but it looks solid and feels pretty solid. Excellent purchase.
