Very thick and bright lights. I have bought several fairy lights to hang in the same room and the lowest setting of these lights is still brighter than the brightest setting of the fairy lights. I love that they come in both warm and cool tones, and some modes combine warm and cool tones, which is a good balance. The 8-hour timer and remote control are also very handy. I installed them in an unusual way to bring some light into my kitchen; I've crossed them back and forth on nails and doubled each other so most of the lights are hidden and only the ends hang down noticeably, but the whole kitchen is well lit by them. So they won't be as tightly grouped if you just hang them in a straight line.
