Review on Revamped New Balance FuelCell Rebel Running Gear: Unleash Your Performance! by Eric Krull

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Is New Balance the leader in running shoes? FCR2 seems to justify this.

where to start The era of super shoes for personal bests or just running faster is here, and innovation is progressing faster than the current state of the global supply chain. I'm a 57 year old mountain climber who regularly does short runs (5-10km) with lots of hills, usually paved but occasionally on trails. I don't race, but most of my hilly runs are around 9 minute paces, which is very fast for a slightly older runner (I think). Descents (and small hills) and they really "pop". Well, for a fraction of the price of those $250 running shoes, the FCR2 gives me lots of pop, is lightweight, has toe room, and fits great. Even though I do the occasional cross-country run or just want to get going, the FCR2 is lightning fast and can get through those 7:15 miles unhindered when I feel like I can. Great shoes that some might call "sneakers" but if I can walk 7:15 in them they are my first choice for a race. Awesome running shoes and I can't understand how good New Balance is at making awesome running shoes. You may be the best.

Pros
  • Elegant design. The laser blue and white color scheme gives it a stylish and modern look.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be versatile enough for different types of workouts.
