I'm not sure what breed of cat is on the product image, but it wasn't as big as I thought it would be. I would say it's about the size of a bowling ball. I just wanted to get rid of it. Is that a strange toy? I'm not sure if it's the most effective, or at least not consistent with my two cats' behavior. Of course they are old boys and not as playful as kittens. They probably would have chased the smaller ball on top more if it was loose and not tied to the larger ball. The smaller ball makes a fun rumble that cats seem to enjoy. A larger ball is simply impractical in size and shape for a scratching post. I even doused it in catnip and my cats just aren't impressed. cats are weird I love her but it's true. You are strange. My cats don't like it, but yours might. But I have a feeling that this configuration is not necessarily successful.
