I have been a craftsman and maker for most of my life. I have worked with many delicate items and this was the worst I have ever tried. The pieces would splinter and break just trying to get them out of the wooden holders. After he got out he decided to clean each part to prevent breakage and it broke a couple more times. Most of the holes weren't big enough to connect the fittings without appreciable force, which wouldn't matter much unless the wood wasn't so brittle that even very gentle pressure would crack it. I broke a few pieces and tried to glue them together but to no avail. Check the rotation of the music box at each step, and even if nothing was caught, the music box stopped spinning about halfway through the assembly. I am very disappointed and will not buy it again.
