I've been buying Nautica shoes for my children since they were very young because functionality is important to me. Nautica shoes are built to last, I don't buy many pairs of shoes for my kids as they keep getting bigger, but the few that do have should be of good quality and I find that in Nautica. I bought these for my 6 year old girl. Fits as expected, very light, comfortable, she can walk, run and bike on it. They are also durable and will last her until she needs the next size up. Remember that every child's feet are different. So if your kid needs extra arch support (mentioned in other reviews), look for their shoes. What suits my children may not suit yours. To be honest I didn't think about it because I didn't encounter this problem but thought I should mention it. We live in Oregon so we experience all seasons and she uses them most often in summer, spring and very rarely in fall. .They are not suitable for winter weather as they are very breathable (which I like). Children should be comfortable, they should walk and go about their business without wearing blocks on their feet just to look stylish. So if you are looking for comfort and functionality, I highly recommend it!
