Although I've never seen a walkie-talkie in person, my experiences cycling in areas with spotty cell phone connection have prompted me to consider other means of communication. After ten minutes, they were able to resolve the situation with the walkie-talkie. The most important thing was to look at the frequencies on which you can broadcast without having to register. These frequencies, of course, turned out to be clogged with negotiations between builders from local construction sites, but there are still opportunities to find gaps there. In general, a very nice choice for gaining familiarity with the walkie-talkies as an option. I also looked at Xiaomi's walkie-talkies, but I'm glad I went with the 5R since despite its manufacturability and the ease with which it can be charged, it's more affordable and has a more reliable connection.
