We live in Southern California and the weather is unfavorable for dogs in fur. The first time I put it on him he was lying on the street and was too hot to play. He flinched at the sound of the Velcro, but within 5 minutes his body temperature seemed to settle to a happy state and he spent the next 3 hours trudging around the backyard, spotting butterfly shadows and squirrel tracks as happily as he could, and without suffocating from the heat. I would say it was a great success for our Cavalier. We use it all the time now. He cooperates so well in getting dressed that we take it as he likes to wear it. Def is recommended. Velcro is strong, so far the material has proven to be durable. To be fair, our guy likes nothing but chew toys. For pollution we received a small one. He's 10 pounds, long and lanky. If it were a little smaller, it would be too big in girth. We have the narrowest ledges so leave room for more muscular dogs. The length is from the neck to the tail. Ideal as it is mostly black on the back and therefore has no hot spots on the back. H, and it's shaped so that it doesn't cause problems with his boy's parts - he doesn't urinate on it.
