To anyone whose dogs get sick from this food.

We have been using this dog food for several years. Two mixed terriers, 11 and 12 years old. They tolerate it well, and it's cheaper than store-bought dry dog food. One of the things to do when changing dog food is to gradually introduce the food to your dog. You can't just give them a whole bowl the first time. You need to mix the old and new food together for a period of time, usually 7 to 10 days. Day 1, 90% old food, 10% new food. If there are no problems, then the next day 80/20, then…

It seems to be going away pretty quickly, so let's add some.

We've been buying either this or beef meal for months and all four of our dogs (and our current pet) seem to be eating it very well. He seems to disappear pretty quickly, so let's mix in some cheaper fodder to help him move a little further. The result was healthy, energetic dogs with good coats and normal looking stools. Overall cheaper than trying to buy something locally that isn't made from sawdust and delivered to our door - we're happy. It may not be 100% "grain-free," but it's a lot…

As someone with a degree in animal nutrition, I'm something of a dog food snob. BUT I'm also a very practical person and I understand that my family can't afford to spend a ton of money on dog food. At the same time, I went in search of inexpensive but high-quality dog food. After feeding our rescue German Shepherd Dog Diamond Naturals chicken and rice, her coat is nice and thick and her poop is the right size (hooray!). It is consistent and also very cheap. Not to mention the easy search. At…

Healthy, cheap and safe. My 2 dogs LOVE this.

I usually buy the beef flavoring which is usually about $5 less per pack but sometimes I add this flavoring to mix and match my dogs. I have 2 dogs (70 and 50 pounds). The eldest is allergic to corn so choosing the food was a bit difficult. We started with Taste of the Wild but it was very expensive and my dog seemed to be getting a bit fat. (okay, lots of fat). We switched to Diamond Naturals a few years ago and he loved it. Because it's healthier than regular dog food, I give it to my other…

better than homemade

I have been preparing dog food for 4 years but wanted to find something more practical. Good dog food cost $15-$20 more than this brand in 2019 (currently $36.99). My homemade dog food, which I fed to my two dogs (a 20-pound Boston Terrier and a 40-pound pooch), consisted of rice, chicken, sweet potatoes, potassium and sodium salts, brewer's yeast and a multivitamin blend, and powdered egg shells for calcium. (Egg shell contains pure elemental calcium!). This meal has almost the same…
