I live in a river pumping area with a lot of farmland in the catchment area, there is also volcanic soil and salt water infiltrates in the summer. So it's not perfect - it tastes and smells like a dirty puddle full of chlorine! After doing a little research into why my hair feels so dry but greasy after washing, I figured water might play a part. So I ordered a 12-stage water filter to try. One word - Amazing! I really felt the difference in the shower, the water was almost softer if possible and the smell of chlorine was gone. After the shower my skin didn't feel tight and my hair became much softer. Highly recommended! FYI, we just got a male and female threaded hose extension from the plumbing store to match our hand shower so installation is very easy :-)
