The automatic cutter that comes with the machine is larger and thicker, leaving a "ridge" on the sides when cutting small items. So I bought this blade to see if the cuts got better and they got better. This blade is much thinner and smaller and is better suited for intricate cuts and all types of paper cuts I've done to date.
