Great product, I hope they never stop!

Ignore the mixed reviews. First, you have to be patient and expect your hands and surfaces to get a little dirty from the splashes. That's not evidence of idiocy. Have some bleach handy in the form of a stovetop cleaning spray. I use 2/3 boxes per item - tight cotton jeans for example. Add the required amount of salt according to the package directions with a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Using a large cheap pan (I have a special one that I only use to dye clothes) is a worthy investment. I dye my black jeans about once a year until they literally fall apart with holes. I was distracted. Heat the minimum amount of water you need (put items in cold water then remove so you know how much water you need). The less water the better, but your clothes must be fully submerged. Heat water, add dye, salt and detergent, then add clothes. Stir every 10 minutes with grill tongues or something else that won't stain. Stay on the stove, but only hot, not boiling. After about 2 hours I put the pan in the garage or outside for 24 hours - that's just personal preference. The next day, take the hose and flush for a good 15 minutes until the water runs clear. Machine wash inside out a few times in cold water only. There is no detergent. Looking ahead, wash these items separately, only in cold water, unless you wash clothes of the same color and don't mind color transfer. Thanks to this method, my favorite black jeans have literally lasted years and still look new. Seriously, you are
