I have had several keratin treatments since 2011. Although technology has improved, my last keratin treatment at the salon was in September 2017. It's time for a new procedure. My hair gets frizzy when I add gel or curling products. If I just wash them and air dry them, they turn into one giant curly mess. I washed and blow dried my hair on Friday and noticed that there are curls and a few waves (sorry I didn't take any before and after photos). On Saturday morning I decided to start my mission. I asked my boys to help apply as my hair is long and thin and by the way a 4 ounce bottle was enough. I had enough to look through some parts that I felt didn't have a sufficient solution. I let it sit for about an hour. Then the process of dividing the hair into three sections and drying each section with a blow dryer began the process. I have to say if you don't do this, the ironing will be a lot worse. Then the flat iron, this was the hardest part of the whole thing as this seals the treatment in the hair you have to make sure you get each strand and run it through 7-10 times. I didn't trust my friend there! After all of this was ironed out, my hair became stiff and sticky. I let it cool for 15 minutes then washed it off and then used the Keratin Research Shampoo as directed. It was already silky smooth, I applied a conditioner mask as I usually have dry hair and split ends. waited another 20 minutes. Then the last rinse. My hair was straight and I didn't blow dry it at all. As it took almost 4 hours (I took my time) I went to the grocery store with wet hair instead. When I got home my hair was beautiful, shiny and still straight. I've never been able to wash my face and walk in my entire life, even after all the other keratin treatments I've had in the past. This is definitely the best keratin treatment I've ever done, and at home by the way.
