Review on 500gm DMC 5628-310 Black Six Strand Embroidery Cotton by Carla Anderson

Can't say out loud - that's a TON OF EMBROIDERY CARTOON! Yes, it looks like a real DMC six strand floss, it has a DMC stamp on it. Also known as Christmas Red, this color 321 is the most popular standard DMC red. I recently decided to buy primary colors in bulk because I was tired of having the leftovers from any regular skinny that weren't long enough to use on my next project. I ordered the black and white 100 gram bags but bought this red 500 gram bag because of the incredibly low price of $16.09. It might have been on sale then, but this 500g Rothorn was cheaper than the current price for a 100g horn. victory, victory! Of course, having never bought dental floss in bulk, I had no idea what 500g meant - THAT'S A LOT! I will never have to buy red thread again in my life, no kidding. The picture certainly doesn't give you any idea of how big it is. It's big, but not so big that storage is an issue. Two 500g bags fit in a women's athletic shoe box, and there's little room in the box for anything else. Overall this is excellent value for money. It's more of a common thread than I need or want, but not so much that storage is an issue. That's 2270 yards of thread. Each regular skeen is 8.7 yards long, which equals 261 skeens.
